Description
The 2025 Inaugural 5K + 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk presented by the Collinswood PTA features TWO events – there’s a place for your pace! Want to be the first to cross the finish line? Great! Want to stop and smell the roses along the way? Go for it!
We invite all participants to set their own pace according to their comfort level. Feel free to walk, run, skip, or jump your way to the finish line!
The entry fee is $30 per person. The proceeds from this event will go directly toward improving our school’s playground equipment. This is a top priority for our students and staff.
Please note: the entry fee is non-refundable and non-transferrable.
Your Race Registration Includes
- Event-specific t-shirt
- Race bib
- On-course and post-event food and beverage
- Post-event celebration including music, food, beverages, vendors, and friends!

Runner Instructions
Please check the email you used to register for the event. There will be updates sent as race day approaches, so make sure you are receiving our emails.
Inclement Weather Policy
This event will be held rain or shine. In the event of inclement weather that relates in school and/or after school event cancellation on Fri 5/9 or Sat 5/10, we will follow CMS guidance.
Refund Policy
Please note: the entry fee is non-refundable and non-transferrable.
This event will be held rain or shine. If the event is canceled because of circumstances beyond the control of the race committee and sponsors, including, but not limited to hazardous weather condition, your entry fee will not be refunded.
Course Map

The map shows the 1-mile course, which is also the first lap of the 5K.
5K participants will run three laps:
- After Lap 1 and Lap 2, turn left after exiting the soccer field to stay on the course.
- On Lap 3, go straight into the bus parking lot to finish.
There will be signage, arrows, and volunteers to guide you throughout the route.
⚠️ Please note: The course includes a mix of asphalt and grassy areas. Major hazards will be marked, but we encourage everyone to use caution, especially on grassy or uneven terrain, near curbs, and transitions between surfaces.
Swag Bag & T-shirts Pickup
We’ll be sending Swag Bags (including t-shirts) home with students on or before Friday, May 9th.
If you have multiple children at Collinswood, the bags will be sent home with the oldest child.
If this arrangement doesn’t work for your family, please email Cole Kessell so we can make alternate arrangements.
If you registered but did not include Collinswood student info, yet have a student at the school, you can still have your bag sent home with them—just email us by Monday, May 5th with:
Your child’s name, grade, and homeroom teacher.
If you do not have a current Collinswood student, you can pick up your race packet on race day at the front entrance starting at 7:45 AM.
Parking
Please park in the main Collinswood parking lot located on Flagstaff Dr.
Bathrooms
School bathrooms will be available between the cafeteria and gymnasium.
Start/Finish Line Location & Start Times
Will be in the bus parking lot. Fun run will start at 9:00a. Fun walk will start at 9:03a.
Race Day Attire
Plan to wear family-appropriate attire and comfortable shoes. You might find a hat and sunglasses to be helpful. Sunscreen is highly recommended.
Strollers
Please no strollers. The Fun Run course will be a mix of paved surface and grass/natural area surface, including curbs and potentially tree roots, and is not suitable for strollers.
Volunteers
We love our volunteers! You must be an approved CMS volunteer for the 2024-2025 academic year to help with this event. Registration is quick and easy and it only takes 1-2 days for approval. Sign up now by completing our Fun Run Volunteer form.
Dogs and other pets
We love pets, but they are not permitted on the course.
